Community Life
Shadow Hawk is a gated community situated in the Sierra Nevada foothills East of Sacramento in Shingle Springs, California.
The community is comprised of 38 well-separated homes, each on 10 acre parcels with plenty of space for horse barns and outbuildings.
Many residents have horses and even more have surrounded their properties with white fencing. Many homes have breathtaking views of the
Sierra Nevada mountains to the East, and vineyards to the West. The quiet streets within the gated community are maintained by the home
owners association and residents frequently take evening strolls and meet on the street since there is little traffic.
The neighborhood is uncommonly tight knit considering the spacing of homes,
with many residents claiming they know their neighbors here better than they did
when living in other communities where homes were only feet apart.
Home Owners Association
The community has a Home Owner's Association to maintain common areas, roads, gates, fire suppression equipment, a website, and
administer the bylaws and architectural guidelines to protect residents' views and property values. Both the Board of Directors members
elected by the community, and committee members that oversee various aspects of community maintenance, do so on a volunteer basis.
Very reasonable Home Owner's Association fees are due quarterly. Shadow Hawk has no Mello-Roos fees.
Five residents serve on the Board of Directors, and other residents serve on committees specializing in roads, landscaping, gates,
and architectural review. Committees meet regularly to administer community resources.
The Board and committee meetings have become social gatherings onto themselves where business is conducted with friendly
conversation, and a few laughs.
Suggestions from new and veteran residents are always welcome, and of course, everyone is urged to get involved.
